Its been quite some time that I blogged last...this job is eating into my time so much that I am hardly left with any to contemplate or write. This particular blog is however the first of a series of more interesting ones that are soon going to follow.
It began with a small notice on facebook: "The 12th IIFA awards is going to be hosted in Toronto in 2011". (Now for those who know not what IIFA awards is, it is the abbreviation of International Indian Film Academy awards- an Indian version of something like the Oscars where the stars of Bollywood descend and set the red carpet on fire) However, even before I could wink my eye, the tickets for the show had sold out and the only ones that could be smuggled in were burning hot at $355 and above for each ticket...there thus remained no way in which I could plot myself on that red carpet!
But lady luck soon smiled upon me and I found myself in an interview from where IIFA would pick volunteers for the event (I have already discussed in my previous blogs how important volunteering is in Canada *** Le bénévolat au Canada) and I was selected to be the team lead of one of the volunteer teams at the IIFA events.
Finally the IIFA Week is here - the main events (to be aired) commence on the 23rd of June and I will be joining the managing team on the 19th of June.As also, I will keep you updated on each new development at the IIFA backstage...
So, see you soon in Joyee Nation!
